Cork city restaurant and microbrewery closes until Friday after customer Covid case confirmed

THOMPSONS restaurant and microbrewery has announced a temporary closure following a Covid-19 incident amongst a group of guests on September 12.

“We have been informed by the HSE of a reported Covid incident amongst a group of guests,” said managing director, Graham Jeffery.

“The HSE have discussed the case with us and we are co-operating with them in full and taking their advice on all steps required including staff testing.

“We are undertaking a precautionary full sterilisation and deep cleaning of the premises over the next two days. From day one we have applied a strict and disciplined regime of Covid checks such as - daily staff temperature checks, installation of screens, constant cleansing and sanitising of the full premises and the compulsory wearing of masks by all our staff.

“No staff member has currently tested positive for Covid. Our primary concern is the safety of our customers and staff.” 

The restaurant and microbrewery located on MacCurtain Street will reopen on 25 September.
