Man being questioned after suspected cannabis and cocaine seizure in Cork city

A MAN is being questioned this morning about the seizure of suspected cannabis and cocaine in Cork city.

The seizure was made at around 1pm yesterday afternoon by the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit during a search of an apartment on Blackrock Road.

The search was carried out on foot of a search warrant.

An estimated €3,400 of cannabis herb and €1,900 of cocaine was seized in the operation.

A man in his 30s was arrested and taken to the Bridewell garda station for questioning under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The suspected drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis to establish purity and exact value.
