A Cork hair salon has been praised for their "wonderful gesture" in helping to support another Cork hairdressers recently destroyed by fire.
In a bid to help 3 Degrees Hair Design which was set alight in an arson attack in the early hours of Friday, September 18, Prestige Hair Design in Glanmire has set up a donation box in aid of the Blackpool salon at their reception area.
"We were devastated for the girls in 3 Degrees Hair Design when we saw the damage done to their property.
"Now more than ever, we need to support them and support local businesses as a whole.
"With that, we have a box at our reception area for donations to help them out - please feel free to donate," the business said in a statement posted to social media yesterday.
"We will also be putting all our tips into the box to do our part.
"Thanks in advance for supporting these wonderful women," they continued.
Last week the owners of 3 Degrees took to social media to thank the people of Cork for their support.
In a statement issued this afternoon, Gardaí said no arrests have yet been made in relation to the incident on September 18 and that they are continuing their investigation.

Separately today, Gardaí launched an investigation following a fire at a barbershop, House of Handsome, in Blackpool.
A Garda spokesperson this morning said:
"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fire at a barber shop on Red Forge Road, Co. Cork in the early hours of Tuesday, 29th September 2020.
"The scene is currently being preserved for technical examination. Enquiries are ongoing."
