A man was arrested yesterday for obstructing the seizure of a scrambler bike following reports of a young juvenile driving the vehicle in a public area.
Gardaí in the Gurranabraher area arrived at the Innishannon Road area on Thursday evening following numerous reports of youths driving dangerously in a local area frequented by pedestrians.
When Gardaí arrived at the scene, they discovered the young juvenile driver operating the scrambler bike with no helmet while carrying a passenger who was also without a helmet.
The vehicle had no insurance or tax.
Upon seizing the vehicle, a man in his late 20s attempted to obstruct Gardaí.
After failing to comply with direction from Gardaí to leave the area, the man was arrested under the Public Order Act.
He was detained at the Gurranabraher Garda Station and is due in court at a later date.
