A 21-year-old man is due to appear in court after Gardaí seized an offensive weapon in Cork earlier today.
The weapon was seized shortly after 3:30pm on Pope's Quay.
A video has emerged showing a group of people laying on the ground with the armed support unit standing over them.
A bag with what is understood to be a machete was seized by Gardaí.
One man was arrested and later charged in connection with the incident.
A Garda spokesperson said:
"Gardaí this afternoon seized an offensive weapon at approximately 3:35pm on Pope’s Quay in Cork.
"A 21-year-old man was arrested in relation to this and taken to Bridewell Garda station.
"He has since been charged and is due to appear before Cork District Court on the 11th of November.
