A Status Orange wind warning associated with Storm Aiden is set to bring with it strong winds and gusts of up to 130km/h.

Met Éireann has issued the Status Orange warning for Cork, Kerry and Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, and Wicklow.

Strong southerly winds veering southwesterly will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80km/h, with severe and damaging gusts of 100 to 130km/h on Saturday.

The warning is in place from 5am on Saturday morning to 10am on Saturday morning.

A separate Status Orange wind warning for Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Clare will be in place from 8am to 4pm.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow wind warning for the entire country will be in place from 1am until 3pm tomorrow.
