Almost 50 on trolleys as Cork hospital sees highest figures in the country 

Almost 50 people are waiting for beds in Cork hospitals this morning with Cork University Hospital's (CUH) Emergency Department the busiest in the country.

According to INMO figures, there are 41 people waiting at CUH ‘s Emergency Department (ED) and six people are waiting at the Mercy University Hospital.

Meanwhile, University Hospital Limerick has the highest number of patients waiting for beds in the hospital, with 46 people on trolleys.

The overall total of people on trolleys across Ireland today is 252, with 212 patients waiting in the emergency department, and 40 in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
