More people are waiting for beds at the emergency department (ED) at Cork University Hospital this morning than at any other ED in the country.
Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) show 36 admitted patients are waiting for beds at the hospital’s ED.
A further seven admitted patients are waiting for beds at the Mercy University Hospital’s ED.
Nationally, 216 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.
A total of 179 patients are waiting in emergency departments, while 37 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.
University Hospital Limerick is worst affected with 28 admitted patients waiting for beds at its ED and a further 12 people waiting for beds at wards in the hospital.
