Torrential rain causes havoc for bus users across the city
People waiting in packed shelters for buses to arrive in Cork city tonight

HEAVY rain led to long delays this evening as commuters were left stranded at bus stops across the city.

Bus Eireann was forced to warn users that all services would be delayed by at least 30 minutes due to congestion across the city.

One waiting commuter tweeted a picture of a crowded bus shelter near Mahon Point where people were waiting in torrential rain for the 215 for over 45 minutes.

The rain, which started around 3pm, is expected to continue long into the night and a yellow weather warning was issued for the Munster region from 3pm Tuesday afternoon until 6am Wednesday morning.

Tomorrow is expected to be a drier and calmer day with a few showers predicted, but nothing too extreme.
