Tickets for the Young Offenders finale screening snapped up in just one hour

THE Young Offenders season finale screening at The English Market sold out in less than an hour this morning.

Some 500 tickets went on sale at 10.30am, with long queues forming as people were keen to get their hands on the much sought-after tickets.

Less than an hour later, all the tickets had sold out as the popularity of the show in Cork shows no sign of waning.

No doubt a big pull for Corkonians will be 'The Young Offenders' cast and crew which are to attend the event.

Fishmonger and Former President of the Cork Business Association (CBA) Pat O’Connell said it was brilliant the tickets had sold out so quickly. Mr O'Connell appeared in both the big screen and TV adaptation of the hit comedy.

“There were 500 tickets there this morning and they are all gone already. It is great to see.” Mr O’Connell said he was looking forward to the event, but hadn’t decided if he was attending as a trader or a cast member.

“I’m not sure who to hang out with,” Mr O’Connell joked.

The English Market trader said it was always nice to celebrate something good about Cork and The Young Offenders really showcased the best that Cork had to offer.

Tickets were €10 with all proceeds going to the Cork-based charity 'Straight Ahead' which is a medical support group that provides surgery, support and medical equipment for children with orthopaedic conditions.
