Now you can get 202 to Mahon Point

BUS Éireann has extended its service direct to Mahon Point shopping centre on the 202 route.

Customers can travel to the popular shopping centre and cinema from prices starting at €1.60.

Bus Éireann & the National Transport Authority (NTA) made the announcement this week following the provision of a dedicated bus entrance at the Ominplex entrance to the centre.

The route serves Holyhill, Cathedral Road, Merchant’s Quay, Monahan Road, Blackrock Road, Skehard Road, Ringmahon Road, St Luke’s Home, and Mahon Point.

The service, launched this week, runs every 10 minutes during peak times and every 15 minutes at quieter times between 7am and 7pm.

It was devised in response to customer feedback and will stop at the Omniplex Cinema allowing passengers easier access to the shopping centre.

After 7pm, services are available every 20 minutes up until 11.30pm with a Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday service operating every 20 minutes up until 11.30pm also.

Martin Walsh, Regional Manager, South, said: “We are delighted to bring our customers even closer to Mahon Point Shopping Centre to enjoy all the delights that are on offer.

“This is the first of a number of planned enhancements to the Cork City network that will be introduced in the next couple of months.

“We look forward to welcoming both new and existing customers on to our services who can sit back, relax and enjoy the benefits from savings on car and fuel costs.”
