Here's what the weather will be like for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day

IT looks like mixed weather conditions could in store for the final day of 2019 tomorrow, according to Met Éireann.

The national forecaster has stated that tomorrow will be misty and cloudy with a few scattered patches of rain and drizzle about, especially during the morning.

Temperatures will be relatively mild, at around seven to 10 degrees Celsius.

Later into New Year's Eve, conditions are expected to become cooler, dropping to about one to five degrees.

There will be patchy mist and possibly fog forming in the light southeast to south or variable breezes.

New Year's Day is expected to be largely dry with light winds in the morning, getting stronger throughout the course of the day as Met Éireann states:

"Increasingly windy on Wednesday night in moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds, increasing strong to gale force on coasts by morning.

"A dry night for the bulk of the country, but patchy rain and drizzle will be starting to move in off the Atlantic to affect western and southern coastal counties by dawn."

Mixed weather conditions have currently been forecasted for Thursday whilst Friday is expected to be dry.
