Cork cafe to open second outlet in Cork's Penrose Dock

Cork health food cafe Naturally Nourished has announced it is opening a new outlet in Cork.

The cafe currently operates at the City Gate Park offices in Mahon.

Those offices were developed by Cork company JCD who are also developing the new offices on Penrose Quay.

Naturally Nourished have now been confirmed as the occupants of the ground floor occupants of the new offices, called Penrose Dock.

They will take up a 2,500 sq ft café in the scheme which is scheduled to open next June. 

There will also be a south-facing outdoor seating area at the entrance to the plaza in Penrose Dock.

The food company specialise in salads, hot dishes, sandwiches and other healthy foods with an emphasis on using ingredients sourced locally. 

Yvonne Whitley of Naturally Nourished said: "We have seen first-hand the demand from office occupiers in City Gate Park for a high-quality food offering and how it will assist new companies moving to Penrose Dock attract the best talent."

“Our ambition for Naturally Nourished at Penrose Dock is to create a vibrant fresh atmosphere to complement our healthy, delicious food offerings, as well as our speciality organic coffee offering. 

The cafe will also offer take-home food and expect the location to be busy given the location on the main route to the train station.

The Penrose Dock development forms a key part of the evolution of Cork’s Docklands into a new economic district centred around the train and bus stations.

The new Dean Hotel is expected to open next year while planning was approved for new apartments in the area this month.

Grant Thornton has already been confirmed as occupants of the Penrose Dock development with further tenants to be announced in the coming weeks.

John Cleary of JCD Group said: “We are delighted to confirm the letting of the café at Penrose Dock. This as well as features such as the rooftop terrace and amenity area which is available to all occupiers will help our clients attract the very best talent for their businesses."

"Naturally Nourished provide an excellent offering and have really embraced consumers preference for healthier foods.” 

The first tenants of Penrose dock are due to take up occupancy in June 2020.
