Cork business owner goes viral with spoof exercise tutorial

Former GAA Captain and one of the founders of Cummins Sports, Kevin Cummins, has gone viral with a witty exercise tutorial.

The video, posted on the Cummins Sports social media pages, has amassed almost 90,000 views on Facebook in less than 24 hours.

It shows the 75-year-old replicating stretches outlined in a fitness video by Irish Open Champion Peter O'Keefe - the husband of Kevin's niece, Mary-Claire.

The five-minute video shows Kevin practising some stretches, one involving the handle of a brush, after which he rates each move as green, orange, or red, depending on how difficult he found it.

The spoof video in which Kevin demonstrates "how to get fit and stay fit" was posted in the family WhatsApp as a bit of a joke, but Kevin is now, inadvertently, fast becoming the nation's favourite personal trainer with calls for more tutorials.

"Here's hoping Kevin can make it a daily workout, he has cheered me up no end," one person wrote, while another added, "I can't remember when I laughed as much. I really needed that."

Given the present circumstances, it seems that many people were glad of some light relief.
