FAMILY: Playing an important part in the big day was the couple’s daughter, Ellie May.

EVERYONE in the whole restaurant in Marbella was on their feet clapping when Sean Rainey proposed to his teenage sweetheart, Katelyn Murphy.

Sean, from Blackrock, and Katelyn, from Shanbally, now live in Ballintemple with their beautiful daughter, Ellie May.

They first met when they were around 16 and 19, through mutual friends.

Sean proposed in Albert’s Restaurant in Marbella, in July, 2018, in front of their family.

Katelyn said: “ I had no idea! I was wondering why everyone was acting strange that day!

“The whole restaurant was on their feet clapping for us, it was the most amazing evening.”

They were married on October 5 at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa Little Island.

“We had the whole day there from start to finish, we opted for a Humanist ceremony with Geraldine O’ Neill, who gave us a beautiful ceremony,” said Katelyn.

“I could not fault one thing about the day, it was magical!”

The bride got her dress in Vows in Blarney.

“I felt like a princess in it, I ended up picking my dress actually by complete accident, I went to Vows with my family to try on dresses I ended up picking a different dress to my one, the following week.

“We got the boys’ suits from Morley’s on Grand Parade in the city, John was so helpful, and we rented them all which was so handy!”

The couple really involved their daughter Ellie May in the ceremony, which was very special.

Their friend Roisin made their beautiful wedding cake.

The band was Catch 22 and Katelyn said: “They were phenomenal, everyone was on the dance floor!”

The newlyweds’ first dance was to Perfect by Ed Sheeran.

As to what was the most memorable thing about the day?

“The atmosphere for sure, there was just the most amazing vibe the whole day and to see everybody having a great time and just enjoying themselves. Also, just to be surrounded by the most amazing family and friends, they made it for us.”

The couple would like to thank Joanne, the wedding co-ordinator at the Radisson Blu, and also photographers, Laura & Benny photography.

“They captured every special moment and we even had a sample album sent to us the next day,” added Katelyn.
