Cork gets 50 new cloud data jobs

CLOUD data management company Rubrik has announced plans to add 50 new jobs in Cork.

The announcement comes as part of the Silicon Valley-based tech company’s plans to further expand its presence in Ireland and Europe.

The new roles, which include customer support, IT and sales, will be based at Rubrik’s office at the IDA science and technology park on Model Farm Road.

The announcement was made by David Stanton, Minister of State at the Department of Justice, together with Arvind Nithrakashyap, co-founder and chief technology officer at Rubrik, and Giri Iyer, senior vice president of customer support and success at Rubrik.

Mr Stanton welcomed the new roles as a ‘major vote of confidence’ in Cork.

“Rubrik is a dynamic, innovative company at the cutting edge of their industry,” he said.

Mr Nithrakashyap, the company’s co-founder, added: “Rubrik is driving a massive transformation in the technology industry by helping companies simplify how they manage their data.”

The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Tony Fitzgerald, said that the announcement adds to Cork’s ‘reputation as the next Silicon Valley.’
